Barbie’s Standup Routine – Laughter on the Banks of the Mississippi

Barbie’s Extended Standup Routine at “Graceland Giggle Palace,” Memphis

“Hello, Memphis! It’s amazing to be in the city where the music is as legendary as Ken’s attempts at playing the guitar. Spoiler alert: he’s no Elvis!

Let’s talk about Beale Street. Ken thought it was a giant outdoor dance floor. He’s been practicing his ‘jailhouse rock’ moves ever since.

We visited Graceland. Ken was looking for the king. He even brought a peanut butter and banana sandwich as a peace offering.

Memphis’s barbecue – oh, the barbecue! Ken tried to start a barbecue fashion line. Aprons with Elvis’s face on them. He’s a trendsetter, alright.

We took a riverboat on the Mississippi. Ken was on the lookout for Huck Finn. He’s still waiting for a raft to float by.

At the Sun Studio tour, Ken tried to record a song. It was about Barbie’s adventures. Let’s just say, the recording is…unique.

Memphis’s zoo had Ken talking to the animals. He thinks he’s Dr. Doolittle. The animals seemed amused, at least.

We tried the famous Memphis dry rub ribs. Ken wore goggles. He thought it was a messy sport. He’s not entirely wrong.

Ken’s been learning about the blues. He wrote a blues song about lost socks. It’s surprisingly emotional.

We visited the Peabody Hotel. Ken thought the ducks were a Broadway show. He gave them a standing ovation.

At the Stax Museum, Ken tried to start a soul band. He’s got soul, just not the rhythm part.

Memphis’s botanical garden got Ken into gardening. He’s been talking to plants. Claims it’s essential for growth.

We attended a Grizzlies game. Ken brought a bear costume. He’s all about team spirit, in his own way.

And about the Mississippi River – Ken was planning a river expedition. He brought a compass, a map, and a snack bar.

Memphis’s craft beer scene is booming. Ken tried to brew his own. It was…interesting. He’s sticking to tasting for now.

At the Civil Rights Museum, Ken was deeply moved. He started a campaign for toy rights. It’s quite the manifesto.

We went to a jazz club. Ken brought a saxophone. He’s enthusiastic, but we might stick to listening.

And the Mud Island River Park – Ken thought it was a spa. He brought a mud mask and a towel.

Finally, the Orpheum Theatre. Ken was ready for his Broadway debut. He’s still practicing his lines.

Filming the Barbie Sequel in Memphis has been like a melody – full of rhythm and surprises. The director said, ‘Make it soulful, Barbie.’ I said, ‘In Memphis, soul is in the air you breathe.’

Thank you, Memphis, for the music, the laughter, and for showing us that life is as vibrant as your city’s history. Remember, life might have its blues, but with a bit of humor, every day can be a rock ‘n’ roll song! And don’t forget to catch all the excitement in the ‘Barbie Sequel’ – it’s going to be as soulful and spirited as Memphis itself!”

This expanded routine brings in more humor and local references to Barbie’s performance, creating an entertaining narrative that resonates with Memphis’s unique vibe and the audience’s experiences.
